DWTS Winners Present Check to Jessica’s House
Jessica’s House, located in Turlock, was one of several organizations who were donor recipients of the Central Valley Association of Realtors’ 5th Annual Dancing with the Stars event held last month at the FESM Hall in Manteca. Dancing With the Stars first place winners, Melissa and Adam Feri, presented a $1,000 big check on behalf of CVAR to their chosen non-profit that provides support to grieving children, teens, young adults, and their families, at no cost. The Feri’s, representing EXIT Realty Consultants in Manteca, were one of four sets of performers during the event. They captured the audience’s attention and the judges’ top scores dancing to “Be My Baby Tonight” by John Michael Montgomery. “When I previously toured Jessica’s House, it just spoke to my heart that the contributions we make to this organization impact entire families during a very sad and stressful time in their lives,” said Melissa Feri of why she selected the Turlock organization. The other performers included the second place team of Magdalena Sandoval, a PMZ Real Estate agent, and Pedro McDougal, representing Premier Community Credit Union, who danced to Daddy Yankee & MarcAnthony’s “De Veulta Pa’ La Vuelta; third place winners, respectively, Leticia Rojo, representing Placer Title of Manteca, and Carlos Molina, a Modesto dance instructor, who danced to Anthony Evans’ “Latch”; and DOMA Title Sales Executive Anna-Liza Estoesta and Compass real estate agent Desiree Garrido, who danced to a 70s medley mix. “The whole idea of this competition is to give back to our local communities,” said Event Chair Christin Robison, a Realtor® with HomeSmart PV & Associates in Manteca. “Not only is it fun for the community, it’s a great opportunity to bring everyone together in real estate for a common goal – charity. ”According to event Co-Chair Barb Montalbo, also of HomeSmart PVA, 16 charities in total are receiving a portion of the $19,261 raised from the event.The charities chosen by the performers included Jessica’s House, Improve Your Tomorrow of Sacramento, the Sikh Motorcycle Club of Lathrop and Haven of Peace Women’s Center in French Camp. The remaining CentralValley charities that will benefit from donations include Agape Villages Foster Family Agency, American LegionPost #249, Cpl Palmer Troop Support, Give Every Child a Chance, Happy Pet Owners, Hope Ministries,Manteca Boys & Girls Club, Pregnancy Help Center of Manteca, Ray of Hope, Turkeys R Us, VFW Post #6311 and Without Permission. All charities will received their checks from CVAR on December 6th during the association’s meeting.
